Therapy or coaching?
After studying at Relationships Australia to become a counselor I realized something very important about myself and the therapy model: I cannot stand anyone being in pain physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Let me break this down for you.
Way back when I smoked we had just finished a class and I nipped out for a quick one to enjoy the sun. One of my classmates an Aboriginal elder came up to me and offered one of his smokes those special American Indian ones. As it was a heavy class where we were debating the problem is the person. David mentioned to me one thing "James, a lot of people aren't going through a mental problem nor do they have issues. Some, most are having a spiritual dilemma." Tapped me on the arm and went about his business.
It was then I woke to realize that the vast majority of peoples issues are rooted in their spirit, the true essence of whom they are and no matter how long a client sat in front of me I would, could never get to the root cause of their life being extremely painful.
It was then that I decided that being a counselor was for me a waste of time as I would not ever be able to help you dear reader move past your limiting decisions and unwanted irrational, emotions.
The very word "therapy" denotes that you are broken does it not?
Truth No 1. No one is broken.
"Therapy" also denotes that you really need someone to hold your hand for a long period of time.
Truth No 2. Change is instant.
Seeing a therapist announces that you are damaged goods to friends family and co-workers.
Truth No 3. You are good enough.
"See you next week." Said the counselor indicating that they are not finished with you.
Truth No 4. You are resourceful.
In the last two years, I have dived head first into the field of coaching and Life change through the resources of Neuro Linguistic programming and Hypnosis. Inside the area of Hypnosis: we have a process called Time Line Therapy that will remove your unwanted, irrational emotions and limiting decisions.
then whilst you are floating on your timeline you can solidify your future into the direction you want.
Coaching your life for change is as simple as sitting in my chair and asking of us "I want change today."
